The day began at 7 am for the team of 18 starting with breakfast. After a few updates for the day the team broke off into two teams to start work on two projects.
One team, consisting of mainly the men plus a few of the teenage girls and guys, aided by Glenn, went to work in the 90+ degree weather digging up sod, placing framework and pouring 5 yards of concrete for a sidewalk around the main housing unit within the compound. Thankfully God provided a bit of cloud cover to keep them from getting too scorched.
The second team, led by Jana, sorted and filled 114 backpacks for the sponsored community of Aduano Uno. Each backpack included school uniforms. In addition, the team organized school supplies for distribution to the school students.
An added blessing was God provided enough backpacks and school supplies to give to 50 students and 3 teachers in the community of San Miguel. This is the first time ever to bless this community in such a way as this.
The team is exhausted but our hearts are filled with joy to be able to share in the work of the Lord here in Nicaragua.
Please remember us all in your prayers for continual strength and the ability to see Gods work in all our lives as well as in the communities we are serving.
